Radio Monte Cristi in the Dominican Republic has, during the last couple of years, been quite often heard in the Nordic countries during good Caribbean openings. Mostly often mixed with WKAQ San Juan PR. First heard in Finland by Pertti Äyräs in the late 90’s who also got the station verified at that time. It took almost ten years before the station would be audible again here in Finland, and since 2008 the station has been logged quite regularly but requires very good Caribbean cx on the lower part of the band. Personally, I have heard the station a dozen of times during the last years but it was not until I got a v/s from ABU in Norway that I finally got the station verification from Ana Maria Fernándz, Coordinadora de Ventas, Grupo Medrano.
