This station has been on my most wanted Argentinian station list for decades. The frequency 620 is mostly occupied by Brazilians R Assuncão, Fortaleza and R Jovem Pan, São Paulo. The most common Argentinian here is probably R Nacional, Resistencia. There are also Nacional stations in La Rioja and Rio Turbio on the frequency as well as R San Rafael in addition to R Provincia Misiones. The latter, LT17, was finally heard during LEM379 on January 27 with a nice peak around 0230 UTC. The stations chief announcer kindly verified my report.
On February 20, 2017 we had a good opening towards Chile between 05-07 UTC in Lemmenjoki during LEM379. One of the station heard was R Stella Maris in Valparaiso, a very big surprise indeed since as far as I know the station has not been heard previously in the Nordic countries. An email and a Facebook message confirmed my report.
Radio Selva, Partido de la Matanza, BA is a rather new station on 1710, or actually on a clear split, on 1709.800. The station was audible almost every night during our two week LEM379 in January. The stations conductora del programa “Bajo el cielo misionero” confirmed my reception rapidly both via Facebook and with a nice email. Gracias Gabriela!
Radio Nacional, Salta is heard every now and then on Lemmenjokis superb 250 degree antenna. My report from LEM367 in February 2016 was confirmed via Facebook.
Heard several times during LEM379 in Lemmenjoki in January 2017. The audio was somewhat distorted but cleraly readable using larger band widths. The station confirmed my reception with a kind email:”¡Saludos y bendiciones Jan Erik! Mil gracias Radio Unidad!
Resende AM was heard in the Borgå archipelago on May 26, 2016 during a very selective opening centered around the State of Rio de Janeiro (see earlier posts). The station identity was nailed by a clear “ZYJ506” in the TOH-id. Pertti Äyräs and I heard this station several years ago in Lemmenjoki in January 2002 but at that time on 1590. I recently finally received a confirmation on my report. 1580 is a very interesting frequency during good cx towards Brazil with numerous rare stations. It is however mostly a very difficult frequency.
More than 10 Brazilian stations has been logged in Finland on 1140 during the years. R Cultura da Bahia, Salvador, BA is by far the mos dominating here during B-openings. R Clube, Bocaiuva, MG, R Charrua, Uruguaiana RS and R Muriaé, Muriaé, MG are some of the other stations heard. On February 15, 2016 I was lucky to hear R Coroado AM, Curitibanos, SC slightly nelow the nominal frequency with, e.g., a nice jingle “1140 Coroado AM”. A nice FB message confirmed my reception recently.
Argentinians on 1570 are very rare. Jari Ruohomäki (JPR) managed to hear AM Rocha in February 2013.On February 15, 2016 (LEM367 expedition) during super ARG-cx AM Rocha was heard for a couple of minutes with a decent fading up around 04 UTC over Brazilian R Metrópole. A nice email was received today confirming my report of AM Rocha. According to the email the stations boss Horacio Daniel Ferrer will send a verification also by ordinary mail. Let’s wait and see. Anyway, a most wanted logging and my first from Argentina on 1570.
R Caicó 1290 was heard a couple of times during good late evening openings towards the North Eastern parts of Brazil in February 2016. Station Ids like “R Caicó, com programas cultura, informacões e esporte” was heard with surprisingly good signals. This station was heard already in 2007 by the LEM241 expedition. 1290 holds quite an array of Brazilian stations that have been heard in Finland, the most commonly heard during the last few years being R Timbira and R Brasil Sul. I received a confirmation from R Caicó via FB.
On February 15, 2016, during LEM367, I heard a SS station with a TOH at 0602 UTC giving both AM and FM frequencies. I assumed, after a first quick check, that the ID came from the ARG super dominant here, R Murialdo. The call signs and the FM frequency, however, did not match with Murialdo and after a second check the ID was solid “R Amanecer, LRI371 AM 1290 kHz, LRI304 FM 92.7 MHz, Reconquista, Argentina”. As far as I know, this station has not been heard in Finland before. Even though WRTH claims that the station has a s/off at 04 UTC, it proves to be inaccurate. WRTH also inaccurately claims that Murialdo signs off at 03 UTC but they carry Radio Católica Mundial programming between 03-06 UTC before returning back to the regular schedule. During some 20 minutes there was, however, no sign of Murialdo on February 15, so one can talk about spot pre-sunrise cx! An e-mail from Fernando Buquerin confirmed my reception report, becoming my Argentina QSL # 180!
