Estación 15-50 was logged in Lemmenjoki last february during my LEM354 expedition. The station was heard with a pretty weak signal. After quite some listening to the recordings from February 25 I found an ID at 0301 UTC “”Desde Buenos Aires, transmíte AM 1550 Estación 15-50”. The station was carrying football programming for the local Club Atlético Huracán. Sergio Correa confirmed my submitted audio. He tells that R Urkupiña changed it’s name to Estacíón 15-50 a year ago. R Urkupiña has been reported heard once in Finland on it’s old frequency 1510 by LEM230 in late September 2006.Gracias Sergio!
R Maria Peru was heard simultaneously on 1550 and 1560 on April 27, 2015 in Sarvsalö/Borgå. Even though Bolivian Bendita Trinidad on 1540 was heard with moderate signals, the conditions this morning favored the southern parts of Perú but did not reach Bolivia (with the exception of Bendita). I anticipated, during my first check of the file, that the station on 1550 was R Independencia, Lima. After checking also 1560 I realized, that I had the same station on two neighboring frequencies. Checking the recordings carefully I found the ID “R Maria Perú” and “En Huancayo 1240 AM, en Talara 104.5 FM” What a coincidence! I received a FB message confirming my receptions of R Maria Peru on 1550 and 1560 with a notice that a letter had been sent to me my ordinary mail. On May 18 Pertti Äyräs noticed OAM7D R San Sebastian in Livitaca/Cusco on this frequency, a station that has been reported heard also in Sweden. On 1560 the new bolivian R Luz del Mundo(started officially on May 16), with it’s new transmitter and 5 kW, will make hearing R Maria here again much more difficult.
Radio Libre was founded in 1997 and is transmitting from the city of Fernando de la Mora, a city located in the Central Department and part of the metropolitan area of Asunción. With some 160,000 inhabitants, the city is one of the most populated of the country. R Libre is mostly carrying talk programs addressing both national and international issues. R Libre 1200 AM – radio la palabra was heard on February 25, 2015 in Lemmenjoki during excellent conditions towards especially Paraguay and the neighboring northern provinces of Argentina. The station phaded up over the Brazilians R Cultura, São Paulo and R Clube, Fortaleza Heard by at least Jari Ruohomäki earlier in Finland the station confirmed my reception by FB.
Henrik Klemetz: Radio Luz del Mundo, Bolivia, 1560, new 5 kW transmitter and antenna site inaugurated May 17. Pastor Raymundo Ramos Chejo, of the Iglesia Luz del Mundo Shekiná,welcomes reports to luzdelmundo.bolivia@hotmail.com The new transmitter was actually on the air a few days prior to the official inauguration and logged by Torolf Johnsson in Sweden.
Pertti Äyräs logged the station already on May 16 in Finland. It was heard here in Borgå on June 4 with a rather nice signal.and today Pastor Raymundo Ramos Chejo confirmed my reception. Mil gracias Pastor Raymundo Ramos Chejo!
R Dime 1420 “su mejor estación” was heard with a nice signal on February 22, 2015 during LEM354. The station was first logged in Finland during LEM224 in 2006 by PÄ and myself under it’s former name “La Marea”. In contrast to neighboring frequencies 1430 and 1440, 1420 is a troublesome one with regards to signals from the La Plata region. In the past the “dominant” LP station was the Uruguay-station R Lavalleja, a station that has not been heard for many, many years. R Guyrá Campana in Paraguay has been logged once in Lemmenjoki. During the last couple of years, however, R AM 1420 or “Radio Dime” has been on the top. After som f/ups I received a confirmation on my mp3 of February 22, 2015 from Daniel Soria: “Hola Jan Erik. Soy Daniel Soria, uno de los periodistas de la emisora. Muchas gracias por tu envió. Es muy grato saber que a tanta distancia nos pueden sintonizar. Hemos recibido tu audio en MP3. R Difusora, Mossoró RN was heard in Lemmenjoki on 1170 on October 26, 2011 with a surprisingly good signal for some minutes. Even though no definite ID the local PSA doesn’t cast any doubts on the identity. Even though the frequency holds close to 20 Brazilians only a couple have been heard in the Nordics. Even the most common Brazilian here, R Atalaia, Curitiba, PR is a quite rare catch here. I sent a f/up to Mossoró some time ago and today Emerson Linhares. Rádio Correio do Vale, Itaporanga, PB has emerged as one of this frequencies most common Brazilian during the last couples of years. Lying a little bit below the nominal frequency. A nice confirmation was received on my February 25, 2015 report and a lengthy conversation with the station followed. According to them, they also own the PB-stations R Educadora on 710 and R Difusora Cajazeiras on 1070, the latter of which has been heard a handful times here in Finland. R Restauracão, Caruarú, PE is this frequencies other “common” Brazilian nowadays.
R Cultura, Alfenas MG was heard during LEM354 on 1180 in a crowd of Brazilian stations on February 25, 2015. Surprisingly, the usual dominant R Mundial, Rio was almost absent and gave place for many interesting signals. In addition to Cultura also, e.g., R Guri, Lages, SC was noted a couple of minutes after. R Cultura was heard a couple of times already in the mid 90’s on it’s former frequency 1570. The first logging in Finland was made by Jarmo Havukunnas (JHU) in spring 1995. A nice FB message confirmed my recent report.
On February 25 a good opening towards Paraguay was noted in Lemmenjoki. Several stations were heard such as Uno 650, tentatively Caritas 680, La Unión R800, Monumental 1080, La Deportiva 1020 and R Libre 1200 in addition to Radio Mil on 1000! This frequency has a definite dominant in the form of R Record, São Paulo which makes hearing of stations from the southern parts of South America difficult. In addition to Radio Mil at least the following stations have been heard once or a couple of times in Finland: Argentinians Del Iberá, Sintonía and Rio Negro as well as BBN R in Santiago, Chile. Yesterday I received a confirmation on my mp3 to R Mil.
R Difusora, Ituiutaba, MG has lately surprisingly often surfaced on “the golden frequency” 1470. Today I received a confirmation on two reports to the station, one from LEM345 in October 2014 and one from LEM354 in February 2015. This became my QSL # 35 from Central and South American stations transmitting on 1470! R Difusora was probably heard for the first time in Finland by Pertti Äyräs on October 15, 2014. It is rather surprising that this station has surfaced during the last half year here in the north after having been transmitting on 1470 since 1959! Something has happened with their transmitter site and/or pattern? When I heard it in February it wast the strongest of the Brazilians simultaneously on the frequency. The other identified were R Papacaca, Bom Conselho, PE and R Rural de Parelhas, RN. Other more or less common Brazilians in the Nordic countries are, e.g., R Guanacés de Itapajé CE and R Record, São José, SC.
